Apple has recently changed the way it validates addresses, making those addresses generated with address generators such as FakeNameGenerator invalid. Users are experiencing this error with their US iTunes Account.
A quick and easy fix: Use Apple’s own address

The address has to match bank RECORDS. In my case I think the ZIP changed for my address. Now even if I change it to the correct ZIP on my bank acct. and itunes it still wont mutch up with PAST bank records. I dont know why I have to waste my time on this. I have been downloading apps and songs with itunes for a long time and never had issues till now.

Were you able to solve this? I think everyone else that had success wasn’t actually buying anything and therefore their billing info was blank.

Awesome. I don’t use the ipod with a Credit card. I use only free apps or the occasional itunes giftcard.
Apple does not have my billing address or my real email. They will not get it from me.
Remember that all these services are not free. You must pay for them and the currency is your privacy.

Doesn’t work with credit card, as the address does not match the bank’s records. Obv only works with full fake accounts. Hooray for the honest customer.

Tried Apple’s own address. But with a credit card payment method, it bombed – Bank Records mismatch (same as others said). Went back and just re-entered my own address (avoided entering anything in the 2nd address line, such as the name of my sub-division, etc). Kept it minimal and clean. Worked! Guess Apple want you to re-enter addresses just to be sure. Wish they’d state that instead of “Invalid Address” – really DUMB error code naming by Apple’s programmers. Sheesh!!!

I’ve been trying to figure out the problem for two days. Then today I went to the apple site and changed address to apple’s address but then because of my credit it was declined. So I put my address back and now it works. What a waist of time!!!!
I think Apple should be clearer on this kind of things. You can lose hours trying to figure it out.

My Credit Card Billing info has not changed but my zip code has so AVS matching does not work with new scheme. I thought the Apple folks were a little smarter. I think I need to look into the Samsung Galaxy IPod Touch competitor that doesn’t use Itunes

LEGEND !!!! i live in australia & therefore have the worst itunes store on earth. hardly any rentals. high price for everything. no latest release tv shows. so i got an USA itunes account with a US itunes gift card. i rely on the US store for everything now. I was going to have to go back to using torrents if i couldn’t get it working again. thanks guys

if you have a credit card attatched to your account this is a waste of your time. just clear your address out and put it all on the first line. it worked for me.

I went to the Apple Store yesterday and they couldn’t fix this “invalid address” thing. Found the info online.
I ended up having to change my address and move the apt to the second address line and add the ending numbers on my zip code. So silly and a PITA

I am trying to do this on my son’s iPod and since there is credit information (it is our, his parents, account we are signing in with) it won’t work to put in the “wrong” wrong address. What is the solution if you have your credit info in the system?
Go to settings, store, view account. Click on payment info then select none.After removing your CC info you should be able to download free apps or if you want to buy an app get an Itunes gift card. It worked for me and I have been having this problem for months.

I’ve been trying to fix this for MONTHS and this finally did the trick. If you have a credit card attached to your account, here’s what you do… Delete your credit card info (under billing, where it lists the type of cards, click NONE). Then just use gift cards from now on. Might be a little inconvenient but it works and it’s much safer, especially considering through this fiasco they charged my credit card up the ying yang: $1 every time I tried to verify my credit cards security number. Problem solved! YAY!!!

my iPod/app store is always saying that my address is wrong(even though I’ve had the same address for God knows how long and it’s been fine until just recently) and i’m not entirely sure what is wrong but i simply cant get it right.
